## Mind Confusing Interview Questions

Not everyone but quite a lot of people get annoyed with frustrating interview questions, especially the ones working in gaming industry. Here are some of the questions you may also get frustrated.

1) As far as a I heard from a friend of mine this question was asked during a google phone interview;

In a virtual country all the families want to have one and only one male baby (boy) and they really insist of having that baby; they contiue giving a birth until they get the boy and they stop having baby after that.

To give an example, let sey there are only 3 families; Family A,B,C

Family A gets the boy after 4 births

G G G B

and Family B gets the boy in the first place

B

and Family C gets it after 10 tries

G G G G G G G G G B

as a result, the number of girls is 12 and boys is 3.

**What would you expect the percent of the population of boys to be in this country?**

The result is not that striking: 0.5

AytekResult must be 0.5 as you said:

We know every family have just one boy.

And number of children per family:

1/2 + 2/4 + 3/8 + 4/16 + … which is 2. (it is derivative of a geometric series)

(First term: 0.5 of the population will have 1 child.

Second term: 0.25 of the pop. will have 2 child.

Third term: 0.125 of the pop. will have 3 child. Goes on.)

Though, my answer is quite late considering the posting time of the question 🙂

Hevicool solution!

but in reality it depends on the population of the country, plus the giving a male birth probability is %49 🙂 which also changes the result
